Stephen and Annelyse Garcia are a father-daughter writing team. Once Upon a Breakfast began as a dream Annelyse had after facing challenges with friendships in fifth grade. She shared the story with her father, Stephen, and years later they revisited it, transforming it into the book you hold today a story inspired by real-life experiences, imagination, and the importance of kindness and understanding. Annelyse is pursuing a degree in education and hopes to inspire future generations as a teacher. Stephen is the CEO of a network of summer camps and retreat centers in the Pacific Southwest and has spent more than 30 years teaching, mentoring, and developing character-based programs for children and youth. Together, they are passionate about encouraging young readers and making the world a better place one creative story at a time.
